Douglas Vaughn Rich, age 79, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 at his home. He was born January 26, 1947 to Joe and Hazel Rich in Jasper, Georgia. Doug proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Doug is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Billye Jo and Bud Presley of Ball Ground, Ann and Gary Prather of Jasper; grandchildren, Drew Ellis of Cumming, Harley Smith of Rome, Cade Rich of Ball Ground; daughter-in-law, Melissa Rich of Ball Ground; sister-in-law, Linda Rich of Jasper; and great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Hazel Rich; brother, Johnny Rich; sister, Peggie Rich; daughter, Taryn Rich Smith; and son, Kai Rich.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Caylor, Reverend Corey Rich, and Reverend Ronnie Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Ball Ground Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, February 20, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday. February 21, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
