Douglas M. Russell, age 81, of Marshall passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 22, 2025.
Doug married the love of his life, Ethlwyn (Tiny) J. Chapman on September 30, 1967 at The Assembly of God Church in Marshall, MI.
Doug lived in Tucumcari, NM in his younger years before moving to Marshall where he graduated. He served in the Army and worked over 30 years for Eaton Corporation until his retirement in January of 1995. After retiring Doug and his wife managed Rainbow Estates in Marshall for 21 years. He also worked at Kmart, Carters, Family Fare and Dollar General.
Doug loved spending time with his family and friends. He took his family on many camping trips and vacations. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, volleyball, dodgeball, horseshoes, euchre and many other sports. He was a member of the local Moose #676.
He is survived by his three children, Ted and Kristi Russell of Marshall, Tara Herman of Marshall, and Shanda Russell of Muskegon; seven grandchildren, Jennifer DeGraw, Alan DeGraw, William DeGraw, Matilyn Russell, Lance Russell, Abigail Calverley, and Jordan Smith; three great grandchildren; brother, Gary Krizan; two sisters, Christine Patton and Carol Jobe; as well as several nieces and nephews and a very special cousin, Judy Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, brothers, sister, parents and a son.
Cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Family First Funeral & Cremation Services of Marcellus, MI. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, October 11, 2025. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family.
