Obituary of Douglas "Doug Bills" Scott
Douglas "Doug Bills" Scott, age 49, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born October 25, 1973, in Montgomery, AL, a son of the late Charlie Bills and Fran Scott Clayton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three close friends, Shane Danley, Tommy Shipley and Jessie Koon. He is survived by one son, Shane Tomey of Buckhannon; one daughter, Michelle Tomey and boyfriend Seth Imhoff of Charleston, WV; one granddaughter, Nevaeh Tomey of Buckhannon; one grandson, Brantlee Tomey of Buckhannon; former wife and mother of his children, Jennifer Scott-Tomey and Mike Brown both of Buckhannon; girlfriend, Becky Knighten of Luverne, AL; one brother, Steven W. Scott of Montgomery; four nieces, Skylar and Shyanne Scott both of Montgomery and Raven Bosley-Streets and Kelli Scott both of Buckhannon; two nephews, Connor Perrine and Adam Ashbury both of Buckhannon and close friends, Bradley Shipley, Brandon Daff and Missy and Teddy Barnett all of Buckhannon, Richard Finks of Montgomery and Jeff White of Greenbrier County. Mr. Scott was an avid outdoors man who loved camping, fishing, and being in the woods. He loved watching football and was a diehard Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens fan. But most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids and listening to music. Friends will be received Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 5 PM with Pastor John Burns officiating. In honoring Mr. Scott's wishes, he will be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
