Douglas Ray Spalding passed from this life on August 31, 2025, at the age of 74, at his home in Hamlin, TX.
Born on December 18th, 1950, in Hamlin, TX, he married his sweetheart, Bobbye Everton, on July 3, 1970. Together, they created a warm, Christ-centered home, providing comfort and joy to friends & family alike throughout their 55 years of marriage. As a loving husband, father, pawpaw, son, uncle, brother & friend, he strove to share God’s goodness at every opportunity.
He shared his love of fishing & hunting with countless others throughout his life as well. He faithfully served Hamlin and the surrounding areas as a mechanic and a trusted friend, well-known for his kindness & integrity. His warm spirit and gentle demeanor left a lasting impact on many.
He is survived by:
Wife , Bobbye Spalding, of Hamlin, TX
Two Daughters , Melissa and husband, Don Lee, of Hobbs, NM, and Deanna and husband, Vance Wright, of Pauls Valley, OK
Six Grandchildren : Ashlyn Johnson and husband, Bradley, Monica Trumble and husband, Trenten, Terah, and Trey Lee, all of Hobbs, NM. Blake and Bryce Wright of Pauls Valley, OK
Five Great-Grandchildren: Ariel, Breckon, and Tatum Johnson; and Xander and Zayn Trumble
A host of extended family and friends.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, Hamlin, TX
Funeral Service: Wednesday, September 3, 2025 Old Glory Holiness Campground, NE Ave P, Hamlin, TX
Community Meal: A meal will be served by House of Prayer Holiness Church at 11:00 AM. All are welcome.
Funeral Service: The service will begin at 1:30 PM, followed by burial at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
