Douglas Kent Stevens, 76, of Frankfort, KS, died March 4, 2024 passed away at CHI Health Nebraska Heart in Lincoln, NE.

Visitation was Monday, March 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.

A graveside funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12 at the Vermillion Cemetery.  Burial followed.

Doug was born November 7, 1947, in Seneca, KS, son of Kenneth Rolland and Aldeane Elizabeth (Johnson) Stevens.  He graduated from Archbishop Mullen Catholic High School in Denver, CO, and pursued his passion for engineering at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO.  With a career spanning various facets of engineering and education, Doug’s broad scope of career experiences spanned the roles of Avionics Entrepreneur, Nav and Coms Engineer and Process Engineer in Caracas and Maracay, Venezuela, and later Professor and head of the Electronics and Digital Technology Department at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, CO.

After retiring, Douglas returned to his familial roots in Kansas in 2001.  Throughout his estimable and appreciated life, he found joy, mirth and happiness everywhere, and gladly shared it. His devotion to his family was unparalleled as he cherished every moment with his sons, Kenneth Stevens of Frankfort and Luis (Tara) Stevens of Alameda, CA. He took immense pride in his grandson Cole Stevens and held a special place in his heart for the mother of Kenneth and Luis, Sonia Esperanza Stevens.

Aside from his professional achievements and dedication to family, Douglas also found solace in the company of fine foods and the companionship of his beloved dogs, especially Lady Bird #3.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rolland Duane Stevens.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of the Padden Funeral Chapel.
