Douglas J. Swancott

Douglas J. Swancott, resident of Pulaski passed away, Sunday, with his family by his side. Douglas was born July 31, 1950, in Utica, the son of David and Verna Freeman Swancott. He graduated from Old Forge High School in 1968. Douglas served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1972 until 1974. He was married to his wife of 33-years, Judith Yale Swancott on July 10, 1992. He was employed by Agway for two years and then Rome Coal and Oil and Collis, in Rome for 32 years, retiring as office manager in 2017. He was a train enthusiast and enjoyed computer programming. Douglas was also an avid Miami Dolphins and SU sports fan. He was an active member of the Wesleyan Church and BOB (band of brothers) group.
Surviving, are his wife Judith of Pulaski, and step-children, Jason Guralny of New Port Richey, FL, Jennifer (William) Carter of Montgomery, AL, Jerome (Lisa) Corliss of Anchorage, AK, and John Guralny (Kari) of Pulaski, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with one more on the way! He is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Myers, Marjorie Parry, Sylvia House and Jan Groszek along with many nieces and nephews. Douglas was predeceased by his siblings, Valetta Gookins, Lorene Young, Jack Swancott, Ruth Swancott, Philip Swancott, and David Swancott.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 13th at Pulaski Wesleyan Church, 5491 US Route 11, Pulaski.
