Douglas Terhune

DOUGLAS R. "DOUG" TERHUNE, 56, of Wesley Chapel, FL, passed away on Saturday, January, 21, 2012 after a brief illness at Florida Hospital–Fletcher. Doug was born June 23, 1955 in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York. As a young man, he was in the Air Force, and retired as an Air Traffic Controller in June 2011 after 35 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Verink-Terhune; his two daughters Kathleen McBride (Matthew) and Amy Manning; two sons, Bryce Womeldurf (Nina), and Cody Verink; 3 grandchildren Alex, Tristen and Nicholas; his father Donn Terhune; mother, Janet R. Robinson; step-father, Evan Robinson; three brothers, John Terhune, David Terhune and Ted Terhune (Debra); four step-sisters, Kathleen Brugger (Paul), Susan Alpaugh (Bill), Beth Robinson, and Audrey McRae (Matthew); sister-in-law Barbara Verink, several nieces and nephews and his loyal sheltie Lacey. He was predeceased by his step-mother, Lena Terhune. Doug was an avid golfer and a huge Gator fan and could always make you laugh.
