Doyle and I met in 4th grade. Personally, I know of few greater human beings than Doyle. We lost long periods of time where we didn't speak or know what the other was doing but one phone call and it was like we never had those gaps. Doyle is the only childhood friend that I stayed in touch with from Hooks. We had adventures a plenty in our youth before he met Rhonda and found love. I will miss my friend dearly. A few years ago we started telling each other "Love you brother" at the end of the phone convos. It was an endearing term for us both as we figured out that we weren't going to be here forever. I just thought I would go first is all. Found this news today belatedly but I am crying for me and my loss in my life because Doyle was my best friend from childhood and he never forgot about me and vice versa. Condolences go out to Rhonda, Cody, Homer and Sunny and all the Hancock family.
