Doyle Edward Jones, also known as Doyle Eddie, son of Oscar Vincent Jones and Virgie Ellen (Smittle) Jones, was born February 27, 1942, in Grovespring, Missouri, and departed this life on January 10, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. Doyle was 81 years, 10 months and 14 days of age.
He was united in marriage to the love of his life Diana Jones, in September of 2007.
Doyle lived in Mountain Grove, Missouri, for many years and previously lived in Grovespring, Missouri. In his occupation, he was a dump truck driver and worked road construction and road maintenance, but he also did some farming on the side. He was also affectionately known by the CB handle as “Table Legs.” He also was an avid fisherman, and he knew the best locations to take family to go noodling for the giant catfish. He loved to play pool with friends, but he mostly enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and just cherishing the family and friends that he had.
Besides his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by his wife Diana Jones; one son, Vincent Edward Jones; and two sisters, Sharon Horn and Donna Hightower.
Doyle is survived by his daughter, Sherry Horton; granddaughter, Chelsea, and great-grandsons, Bryson and Colton, all of Grovespring, Missouri; one step-daughter, Tina Ferguson, of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-sons, Roger Ferguson and his wife, Gina, of High Ridge, Missouri, and Spencer Ferguson of Hartville, Missouri; one sister, Jackie Mayne and her husband, Kenny, of Grovespring, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other family and friends that will miss him very much.
