Dr. Allen Huggins Johnson

The Physician Liaison Program at MUSC often relied on Dr. Johnson for his advice and guidance in answering questions and facilitating communication between referring physicians and our faculty. He had served in so many capacities, he always knew just the right thing to do. Very generous with his time and advice to us. A real blessing and a true gentleman.

Judy and I are grateful for the time we were able to spend with Allen. His soft spoken voice, engaging personality, ability to both listen and tell a good story were just some of the many things that come to mind. He will truly be missed by many and will remain in our thoughts.

You were a good friend and gracious host to me. I will miss your spirit.

Allen was a true friend & physician of mine for fifty plus years. We golfed, quail hunted and simply enjoyed each other. He always had brilliant counsel and a kind demeanor(except at times on the golf course:) )--I'm heart broken and will really miss him. God Bless his soul. Charlie Drawdy,Sr.

Of all the many fine and knowledgeable physicians that I have had the honor of working with, Allen was just the best. He was the best of the best. His Obit has it just right. It was never about him. The patient came first. He was a doctor's doctor. I aspired to practice medicine like Allen did, a high bar.

I offer my condolences to Jennifer and the entire family. Allen was a good friend for many years. He was a valued colleague throughout our careers at MUSC. I remember Allen for his wise counsel to me. I could always count on him. MUSC is a much better institution as a result of his long service. I will miss him.
