Dr. Nowell was an amazing professor and just a great human being. I am so sorry I missed her before moving back. She had been on my mind heavy. You are so loved and sorely missed. I know you are showing that big smile above. Love you forever.

I´ve known Toni´s sister Sharon since the early eighties. I first met Toni when she conducted a workshop in Naperville, Illinois. I experienced a "lightbulb moment" in that workshop that changed my life forever. I think about that day often. I got a chance to spend time with Toni again when I traveled to D.C. for a work event, which Sharon also attended. Over the years Sharon kept me up to date on what was going on in Toni´s life. It was clear that she absolutely adored her big sister. Toni will be missed!

I had the joy of knowing Toni through her amazing sister, a close friend of mine for over 35 years. Years ago, we shared a vacation that became the start of a special, distant friendship I´ve always treasured. I´ll never forget our shadow photos on the beach in Montego Bay, dancing at the Blue Lagoon in Port Antonio, and all the carefree fun we had-so young, so full of life. Toni had a radiant smile and a beautiful spirit that lit up every room. Her memory will forever live on in those joyful moments and in the hearts of all who loved her.

To the family and friends of Dr. Antonia Hall Nowell,
In the passing of Antonia, I have lost a great friend, a former colleague and a scholarly mentor. We met at the University of DC and continued that friendship throughout the years. I saw her give untiringly to the university and the community at large.
I will miss her gregarious presence and that beautiful smile.
May happy memories provide some comfort, during this sorrowful time.
Continue in prayer for your strength and peace.
