Dr. Eric Lipnack Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 17, 2026.
Dr. Eric Matthew Lipnack, D.O., passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 25, 2026, leaving behind a family and a community of friends and colleagues who loved him deeply. He was 81 years old.

Born on March 17, 1944, Eric grew up in the Pottstown, Pennsylvania area, the son of Marvin and Ethel Goldstein Lipnack. His parents ran Lipnack's Linoleum Center in Phoenixville, PA. Eric continued to run the business until 1981 when he decided to pursue a career in Medicine.

Eric earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to practice Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the Philadelphia area for many years, touching the lives of countless patients with his skill, patience, and genuine compassion. In 2017, he retired to Florida - but retirement, it turned out, was not in his nature. Driven by a lifelong desire to help others, he returned to medicine, earning Board Certification in Addiction Medicine, and continued caring for patients with the same tireless dedication that had defined his career.

Eric was a vital, intelligent, and deeply generous man. He had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for - not just as a physician, but as a person. His warmth, his sharp mind, and his genuine love for others left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Schwartz; his daughter, Amanda Lipnack-Radel, and her husband Todd Radel; his step-daughters, Alexa Schwartz Luxenberg and her husband Michael Luxenberg, and Zoe Schwartz Goodstadt and her husband Jared Goodstadt; his sister, Jessica Lipnack, and her husband Peter Wiley; four young grandsons; and a wide circle of friends and colleagues whose lives he enriched immeasurably.

A memorial service will be held in the spring, when family and friends will gather to celebrate the full and remarkable life of a man who gave so much of himself to so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to a cause close to Eric's heart - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and JAFCO Children's Village.
