Dr. James Edward Wuenscher, age 82, of Mt. Airy, North Carolina passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 at Forsyth Hospital, Winston Salem, NC. Jim was born January 14, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Edward Ervin Wuenscher and Gladys England Wuenscher. Dr. James Edward Wuenscher was as professor at Duke University of Durham, NC for several years, and retired as a biology teacher with Carroll County High School in 2008. Jim’s love of Christ and sharing the love of Christ was immense. Additionally, the love of his family, outdoors and music was his joy. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ann Wuenscher of Mt. Airy, NC; daughters and son-In-Law, Tammy White Turnmire and Jason Turnmire, of Todd, NC, Tracy Ann White of Mt. Airy, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy John White and Ava White, of Cottonwood, AZ; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Wuenscher and Kathy Wuenscher two nieces of Orangeburg, SC. He is also survived by grandchildren, Shana Dillard and husband, Michael Dillard, Joshua Blevins, Brett Rogers, Johnathan Blevins, Erin Walker and husband Denver Walker, Evan Wagner, Aleister White, Isaac White, Messiah, Dylan Turnmire, Landon Turnmire, and five great grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Mt. Airy, NC on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Wuenscher family.
