Jesse Stroman Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud U.S. Army veteran, was called home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2025, in Dover, Delaware. He was 87 years old. Born on January 21, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jesse lived a remarkable life rooted in faith, family, service, and a deep and lasting love of learning.

He dedicated 21 years of honorable service to the United States Army, serving with pride, dignity, and discipline. After retiring from the military, Jesse transitioned into the world of entrepreneurship where he built a successful career in real estate. But his greatest work wasn't just in business or uniform, it was in how he uplifted others. Jesse believed deeply in the power of knowledge. He was a lifelong learner, always reading, questioning, growing, and just as important, he made sure that those around him grew too. He shared what he knew freely, especially when it came to financial literacy, and was always eager to ensure his family, friends, and even strangers had the tools to build better lives for themselves.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." - Hosea 4:6

Jesse had an extraordinary heart. His wisdom, kindness, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. He had a love for jazz and a natural rhythm for both music and conversation. Whether through his passion for financial empowerment or the joy of a good tune, Jesse was always teaching, always giving, and always present. He was a man of deep faith who truly knew and loved the Lord. Jesse's relationship with God shaped the way he lived his life humbly, faithfully, and with purpose. Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, the family finds peace in knowing that he is no longer in pain and is now resting in God's perfect presence.

Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Hattie Virginia Stroman. Their union was a living example of devotion, resilience, and unconditional love. He was preceded in death by his children Michael Stroman and Valerie Stroman Bouldin, his son-in-law Richard Bouldin Jr., his parents Jesse Stroman Sr. and Laura Arrington, his brother Leroy Arrington, and his brothers-in-law James Spruill and Edgar Berry.

He leaves behind his son Miles Stroman, and a beautiful legacy carried forward by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Darrel Stroman (Janae) and their three children, Curtis Stroman and his two children, Arielle Naylor (TJ) and their three children, Jesse Stroman, Domonique Stroman, Jared Stroman and his child, Richard Bouldin III, Thaddeus Stroman and his chiild, Arianna Brooks and her two children, and Annalissa Stroman. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law Bessie Mims, Jannie Berry, Daisy Spruill.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7

In addition to his immediate family, Jesse is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members, all of whom were touched by his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. His influence reached across generations, and his impact will continue to be felt in the lives of all who knew him. Jesse will be remembered as hardworking, loving, generous, passionate, and deeply dedicated to the people he loved. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, and confidant. His life was a testimony of grace, strength, and quiet impact. For all who knew him, his presence was a gift and his absence will be deeply felt.

His life was a blessing. His memory is a treasure. And his legacy is one of love, wisdom, and unwavering faith. The family invites all who knew Jesse to honor his memory by sharing something he taught you with someone else and by continuing to learn, grow, and lead with love, just as he did.
