Moultrie, Georgia – Dr. Paul Franklin Morgan, DVM, 82, of Moultrie, Georgia, beloved husband and best friend of Candace Morgan, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Archbold Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family.
He was a man who walked with God and had been a Deacon at Trinity Baptist Church. He so loved his church family, and one of his greatest concerns was missing his Sunday School class and church services the last six months; however, he never failed to watch the service on TV each Sunday.
Dr. Morgan was the youngest of two children. He had an older sister, Linda Payne. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Candace; his sons, Paul C. Morgan and wife, Michelle, Jason Morgan, Dr. Jon Jones and wife, Rachell, Chris Jones and wife, Michelle, and his only precious daughter, Lauren Jones; four grandchildren, Hunter Morgan, Rui Jones, Taylor Jones and Haley Jones; sister, Linda and Rondall Payne; beloved sister-in-law, Margie Townsend; his loving cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved dog, Mouse Morgan.
Frank was larger than life and never met a man he didn’t like. He had the most natural and loveable personality, and with that little twinkle in his eye and his southern charm, he was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a man of incredible character and always made the extra effort to keep in touch with cherished friends and family.
Dr. Morgan was born in Franklin, Kentucky on March 14, 1943, to the late Wilda and Paul Morgan. Upon graduation from Franklin’s Simpson High School in 1961, he attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, and then attended Auburn University Veterinary School in Auburn, Alabama, graduating in 1972. He was a true and devoted War Eagle.
Throughout his years of practice, he was a devoted professional to his beloved patients and was so loved by them. There were two exceptions, a mean chow and an even meaner chimpanzee.
After previous health issues and concerns, his physicians urged him to retire from his private practice, Skyline Animal Clinic in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He needed to work in a related field that was not as physically taxing. He accepted a position as a veterinarian with the USDA in Moultrie, Georgia and began phase two of his life.
Throughout the remaining years of his journey, he was always respected and loved, unassuming and modest, but extremely capable, always devoted first and foremost to his large family. In a most fitting eulogy for Dr. Frank or “Pops”, his life was well spent and will be a living legacy of loving and caring of giving and sacrificing, always putting others first.
Rest in peace my beloved husband and best friend.
