Doctor Paul Anthony Nassour age 73, died peacefully at his home on Elder Mountain, TN on March 26, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Judi, of 40 yrs and his beautiful daughter Michi. Paul was affectionately called "Doctor Nasty" by his friends. He was well known in the North Georgia-Chattanooga area as a distinguished emergency medicine physician. Dr. Nassour was loved and respected by colleagues, co-workers, emergency medical service personnel, fire and police professionals, state troopers, and other public safety employees and their families. He compassionately treated thousands of patients in multiple hospitals over a long successful career of 43 yrs. Dr. Nassour was an educator, EMS Director, clinical instructor and leader in his chosen specialty. He was recognized as a "gifted" physician by many. His passing creates a void in the emergency medicine community. He served on various advisory councils and committees for the state fo Georgia offices involving EMS and trauma. He was an honorary Georgia State Trooper and honorary Deputy for several counties in Georgia. He was the recipient of the coveted James H. Creel, Jr. MD "EMS Pioneer of the year" award in 2012. Dr. Nassour was born in Beruit Lebanon to the late Dr. Herbert and Hoda Zaide Nassour. From the age of three yrs he was raised in Texas. He was a graduate of the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. His post graduate training was in Hermosillo, Mexico, St. Vincent Medical center in Toledo, OH and the V.A. in Leavenworth, KS. Dr. Nassour was the oldest of eight children. All of his borthers and sisters have had distinguished careers in medicine, law and public service. He will be greatly missed by his wife: Judi Cook Nassour of Elder Mountain, TN, his children: , Michi Nassour of Chattanooga, Traci Allen of Rossville, GA, Paul Sweetin of Austin, TX, Susan Goglia of Houston, TX, siblings: Jimmy Nassour, Sammy Nassour, Mary Ghalab Phd, Virginia Nassour all of Austin, TX, Herb Nassour of El Paso, TX, Faye LaFon MD, Pauline Rizzo of Huntsville, AL, granddaughter: Zoi Allen of Rossville, GA, six other grandchildren in Texas, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and a memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. All local public safety personal including Emergency Medical Service personal and services, Law Enforcement personal and agencies, Firemen and Fire Departments are asked to be Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions to may be made to Paul Nassour, M.D. family fund at 1022 River Bend Rd. Chattanooga, TN 37419. Funeral attire, "Texas Style" blue jeans with cowboy boots preferred. to be the Brightest Star in the Sky.....
