In Loving Memory of Dr. Raj Marwah
March 5, 1948 - November 27th, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and profound respect that we announce the passing of Dr. Rajendra (Raj) Marwah, beloved husband, father and physician, who departed on November 27th, 2024 at the age of 76. Dr. Marwah dedicated his life to serving others, enriching his community with both his medical expertise and his unwavering spirit of kindness and generosity.
Born in New Delhi, India, Dr. Marwah was deeply influenced by the values of empathy, service, and the pursuit of knowledge. He graduated from Maulan Azad Medical College in New Delhi, where he first discovered his passion for medicine. He moved to the United States with his beloved wife, Sylvia, and their two daughters, Katie and Pamela. He often spoke of the respect and gratitude he felt toward the country that welcomed him as a citizen, and in a gesture of profound patriotism, he chose to serve as a physician in the United States Air Force Reserves, where he worked diligently to provide care to both service members and their families.
While residing in America, Dr. Marwah and his wife Sylvia would then go on to welcome their son and daughters, Rakesh, Jennifer, and Alison into their family.
Throughout his career, Dr. Marwah was not only a physician but also a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration for countless individuals. Known for his humility, wisdom, and relentless dedication, he became a cherished member of his local community. He was the doctor people trusted for his unwavering commitment to their well-being. His commitment to the medical profession and his legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of his family as well as in his community.
In his later years, even as his health began to decline, Dr. Marwah sought to keep going, never losing his drive to help others. His strength and resilience in the face of adversity were a testament to his character, and he will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but for the love and wisdom he so freely gave to all who knew him.
His life reminds us that service to others is the greatest calling, and that true healing comes not just from the body, but from the heart and spirit. He is survived by his son, Rick, his daughters Katie, Pamela, Jennifer, and Alison, his grandchildren Hagen, Jackson, Riley, Ava, Essie and Ravi, and his sister Dolly, in addition to extended family who loved him dearly. Dr. Marwah was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sylvia, his granddaughter Sydney, his father Mohan, his mother Bimla, and his brother Billu.
A memorial service will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00pm on December 16, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home West, with a Celebration of Life to commence at 6:00 pm where we will gather to celebrate his remarkable life and the lasting impact he made on all of us.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Medical Association, in honor of Dr. Marwah's dedication as a healthcare provider.
