Duane Richard Hensel, 76, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Smithville Western Care Center, in Wooster.
Duane was born December 7, 1949, in Wooster, Ohio to Richard Hensel and Mary Friend.
He worked for Metallics Recycling, Red Head Brass, and Walmart. Duane loved gardening, painting, fishing, and bowling. He was in a bowling league many years ago. Duane took great pride in his gardening, he grew corn, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and more of the like. He had the best garden in the whole neighborhood.
Duane will be deeply missed by his daughter Sherry Ann Wharton of Wooster; grandchild Shannon Wharton Jr.; brothers Gary Hensel, Mike Hensel, Ken Friend, Steve Friend; sisters Karen Butler, Patty Hensel, Betty Hensel, Mary Friend, June Saverdra.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kenneth Holmes; sisters Louella Miller, Rhonda Hensel, and Martha Holmes.
