Duane Pollock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home - Iron Mountain on Oct. 14, 2025.
Duane G. Pollock, 91, of Kingsford passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson. He was a kind, generous man and has gone to be with his Lord and Savior. He is now free from the effects of Parkinson's. We will all miss him very much.
Duane was born in Kingsford, MI, on July 13, 1934, son of the late Clifford and Edna (Schlais) Pollock. Duane attended Kingsford High School and after serving in the U.S. Army, he completed his education. Duane served in the Army's 11th Airborne Division following the Korean War. After completing his tour of duty, that included time spent in Germany, he was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant in 1957. On Dec. 3, 1955, while on leave, Duane was married to Margaret "Sue" Ladd in Tennessee. Sue preceded Duane in death on February 16, 2011, after 55 years of marriage.
Duane was a very warm and welcoming man whose life was centered around his faith and family. He was a long time member of the Balsam Street Christian Church, serving in many capacities and the VFW Post 4803 of Felch. When Duane wasn't working or doting on his wife he enjoyed golfing, hunting and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Duane will be deeply missed by a sister, JoAnn Ritt; sister-in-law, Barbara Pollock; brother-in-law, John (Mary) Ladd; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Duane is preceded in death by 4 siblings, Clifford Pollock Jr., Arlene Showinsky, Elaine Cheney and Beverly Pollock.
Visitation will be at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home, 901 Carpenter Ave., from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Oct. 31, 2025, followed by a memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Dickinson County Memorial Gardens.
