Durward Bernard

Durward Bernard passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the age of 63. He was born in Mobile, AL on April 29, 1961 to Jules and Patricia Bernard. He was a christian who was active in The Baptist Church, most recently New Zion Baptist Church.

He was widowed, but previously the beloved husband of Lynne Theobold and the father of Rhett Bernard.

He resided in Covington, LA for the past 15 years of his life and lived in Moorpark California for the prior 15 years. He grew up in Lakeview, LA and lived there for the largest part of his life.

He graduated from UNO with a marketing degree and went on to graduate with a MBA from UNO. He worked as a financial analyzer for several companies in California and Louisiana, most notably: Texaco and Bank of America. It was here that he thrived and influenced many through his jokes and playful persona.

He is survived by his son, Rhett Bernard and sister, Julynn Owens. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynne Bernard, father, Jules Bernard, mother, Patricia Bernard, and sister, Kerry Bernard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service in the chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA on Saturday May, 17, 2025 at 11:45 AM. Visitation will be held from 10:00 Am until service time.
