Dustin C. Jones, 45, died unexpectedly on November 5, 2025.
He was born in Bucyrus on January 17, 1980 to Danny and Linda (Ford) Jones. He grew up in North Robinson where he loved playing ball, spending time with family, and caring for animals. He played basketball for Col. Crawford and graduated in 2000. He went on to study at NC State and worked until his health no longer permitted him to do so.
Dustin will be remembered for his generosity and kind spirit. Even when he had little or nothing to give, he wanted the best for others and gave what he could. He rooted for Cleveland’s sports teams along with the Buckeyes and took up golf because he could enjoy it with his dad, brother-in-law, and nephew. He was also very funny and loved making others laugh with a joke or silly dance. He took lots of photos, loved gaming, and was a huge movie buff. He also liked music, listening to his favorite 80s tunes and yacht rock. He had several precious pets over his life, including his current Persian cat, Gypsy.
Dustin is survived by his parents, Danny and Linda; sister, Danelle (Chad) Branham; niece and nephews, Alison (Brente) Jarvis, Noah Trease, and Jacob Rahm; great nephew, Bronxten; maternal grandma, Marilyn Lowmiller; and aunts, Mary (Jeff) Cochran and Linda (Ray) Clayton.
The Jones family will gather for a private memorial service. Those wishing to honor Dustin with a memorial contribution are encouraged to make gifts payable to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County and give through Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus.
