Dwayne Chestnut, beloved son, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 20,2025. He was born in New York, and later made North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, his home, where he spent the majority of his adult life.
Dwayne gave his life to Christ at an early age, a commitment that shaped his character and guided him throughout his life. His faith was a constant source of strength, and he was known for his gentle heart, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand to others.
Dwayne was a proud graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School, Class of 1982. He dedicated many years of hard work and service to his community through his employment at Myrtle Beach International Airport and Horry County Animal Control. His compassion for both people and animals left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Even after becoming disabled, Dwayne continued to live with dignity, faith, and a positive spirit that inspired those around him.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his loving mother, Roberta Chestnut, who now welcomes him home in Heaven.
Dwayne's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. His warm smile, humble nature, and steadfast faith will remain in the hearts of those he touched.
Poem
Though the sudden departure has left us in pain,
And our world feels like a landscape of rain,
We hold to the promise, the hope that is true,
That his journey to glory has ended anew.
He has been called, not by us, but by Him,
To a life that is peaceful, a light that's not dim.
He now walks in sunlight, a heavenly home,
No longer by earthly troubles to roam.
The pain of his absence, the tears that we weep,
Are held in the arms of a promise to keep.
Though his time with us was cut short, far too soon,
He is now in the grace of his heavenly groom.
