Dwayne was born on January 16. 1962 in Philadelphia, PA – first born son of Janet Elizabeth Hines. Educated at Elverson Elementary School, Philadelphia, PA; West End Elementary School, Woodbury, NJ and Brandeise High School, NYC. Attending several colleges and universities, he received his degree from Mohawk Valley Community College.
Post graduation, Dwayne enlisted in the US Army where he faithfully served until he was medically discharged. The military gave him the foundation and fortitude to continue to help others. He became a counselor at the Utica, NY Rescue Mission to help those with mental health and sobriety. His caring FOR others was never ending. Dwayne had a wandering sprit which led him to places like – Philadelphia, PA, Brooklyn, NY, Woodbury, NJ, Monticello, NY and finally Utica, NY.
Dwayne was known for his kind heart always willing to give that person behind him a helping hand.
To cherish his memory is his daughter Danita Hines; siblings Cheryl and Kevin Hines; and grandchildren Unique, Devin, Jeremiah, Malachi, Nyla, Aniyah and Danita III.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all those who have reached out during this time of grief.

My long time friend Moe D as I called him was a very loving and big hearted person. We would spend time talking whenever we would happen to run into each other and he always brought a smile to my face. You will be missed my friend and brother. My condolences to his family.
