Dwayne Edward Smith was born October 13, 1958, to Linwood and Katherine Smith in Kansas City, MO. He went to Kansas City schools and received his GED and an Associate Degree in Arts from Moberly Junior College.
Dwayne worked for General Motors for over 20- years in Kansas City, Kanas and in Arlington, Texas.
Dwayne married Carmen Davis-Wesley at an early age. Although, this union was brief two beautiful children were born that he loved dearly. He enjoyed being around his family and friends, the casino and visiting the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. He was an avid learner, enjoyed reading and could debate about any subject and topic at any time.
Dwayne was outgoing, funny and could make anyone laugh, there was never a dull moment when he was around. His point of pride was his Negro Leagues Baseball Memorabilia, planning our annual family picnic at Swope Park and being the family protector. He touched so many lives throughout the years and will be greatly missed. He had a strong belief in God and taught us that with God's infinite grace we can reach the unreachable. He was preceded in death by his parents Linwood and Katherine Smith.
Dwayne leaves behind two children Dwayne- Atlanta, Georgia and Dawon- Arlington, Texas. His siblings Roslyn Barnes (Robert), Kenney, Darriel (Danielle), Denita, Deann (Larry), and Kathryn "Nay." He also leaves two grandchildren and Ikia and Cheyenne and a host of nieces and nephews.
