Dwayne John Swindle
July 19, 1949 – June 10, 2025
“Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord” 2 Corinthians 5:8, NLT.
Dwayne John Swindle, of Waxahachie, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2025, at the age of 75. Dwayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Swindle, and his children: Johnny and Amber Swindle, Tina and Mark Byrd, Ashley Gilbert, Michael and Kierstyn Swindle, Amber Swindle and Aryan Lukas. Dwayne’s legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Ashley and Josh Ogg, Kaiden and Kennedy; Justin and Senia Swindle; Karli and Jon Lindgren, Levi, Luke, and Eliza; Kolt Byrd and Shyla Smith; Desiree, Destiny, and Isaiah Minter; Elias Swindle-Saenz; Mani and Ashley Baez, Jadyn, Sophia, Myah, and Daniel. He is also survived by his siblings, Dwight and Sandy Swindle, and Frances Bailey, along with a host of much-loved nieces and nephews.
Dwayne spent the last twenty years of his working life serving children in foster care—work that was deeply rooted in his unwavering faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. His dedication made a lasting difference in the lives of many vulnerable children and families.
Outside of work, Dwayne found joy in his family, fishing, gardening, and sharing meals and laughter with his friends in the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out). He was a source of encouragement to all who knew him, inspiring others to love God and love one another. His kindness, humor, and strength left a lasting imprint on everyone he met.
A public viewing will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A memorial service will follow on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Waxahachie Bible Church.
Dwayne will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
