Dwight Harold Brubaker, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at the age of 95 in Menifee, California. Born on January 23, 1930, in Pennsylvania, Dwight's life journey was marked by dedication to his family, his craft, and his unwavering faith.
Dwight was a man of many virtues. His warm smile and friendly demeanor made him a cherished friend, a beloved family member, and a respected member of his community. He spent a fulfilling career as a grocery clerk with Safeway Grocery Stores, where he served the community for 30 years with diligence and care.
After retiring, Dwight did not slow down. His passion for arts and crafts flourished as he spent countless hours in his workshop, creating beautiful pieces that were as much a testament to his skill as they were expressions of his love for creating. Each piece held a story, a memory, and a piece of Dwight's heart.
Dwight's commitment to his faith was evident in his active involvement in his church ministry. He taught Sunday School, sharing his wisdom and compassion with all who were fortunate enough to learn from him. His teachings were not only lessons in faith but also in life, as he guided many with his gentle and faith-filled approach.
Family was the cornerstone of Dwight's life. He is survived by his children, Tim (Jacqueline) Brubaker, Colleen Hettelsater, and Wayne Brubaker. His legacy continues through his six grandchildren, Andy Fishback, Aubrae Jackson, Dana Sprunger, Paul Brubaker, Luke Brubaker, and Marisa Nora and his great-grandchildren, Gerald, Thomas, Victor, Joseph, Jeremiah, Andrea, Emma, Ava, Liam, Mary and Ellie who will carry forward the values he instilled in them. Dwight also leaves behind his sister, Velma Mae Eastep.
Dwight's life was a reflection of the words that best describe him: loving, friendly, and faith-filled. Each relationship he nurtured, every piece of wood crafted, and every lesson he taught was imbued with these qualities.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Joan, who was his partner in life and faith. Together, they built a foundation of love that sustained their family and inspired all who knew them. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Michele Fishback.
As we say farewell to Dwight Harold Brubaker, we celebrate a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and a faith that inspired. He will be deeply missed, but those who remember him will continue to benefit from his legacy.
