Dwight Edward Duke, 91, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.

He was born in Sugar Grove, Ohio on January 14, 1935, the son of Russell Blaine and Mary Margene (Deck) Duke.

Following graduation from high school, he attended Wilmington College. He later earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Park College after retiring from the Air Force.

He was united in marriage to Norma Kathleen Shoop on December 4, 1960.

Dwight served his country for 29 years in the United States Air Force. At the time of his honorably discharge, he held the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Following his last assignment at Whiteman Air Force Base, he and Norma continued to live in Knob Noster and he worked for Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg as a Certified Nursing Aid. In 2015, they moved to Jefferson City.

Dwight liked to play the piano, read, tinkering on cars with his son, go camping, and watch the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a man of great organizational skills. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Duke, Jefferson City; his daughter, Michelle (Jason) Ford, Jefferson City; his son, Michael (Abigail) Duke, Linn; four grandchildren, Andrew Ford, Katherine (Steven) Gutierriez, Blaine Duke, Eller Duke; and one great-grandchild, Jerome "Romey" Gutierriez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marilyn (Bob) Sullivan; and a brother, Donn (Mary Ann) Duke.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Trimble Funeral Homes in Jefferson City followed by the funeral service at 12 noon with Pastor Chris Thomson officiating.

Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11 a.m.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
