Dwight Gilbert Henderson, 81, of Morton, passed away at his home on Monday, December 15, 2025.
He was born October 19, 1944 in Shelbyville, Tennessee to Gilbert Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Agee) Henderson. He married Joyce Irene Moreland in Peoria on May 9, 1964. He later married Vivian Ann Fuchek in Illinois on February 14, 1974. She preceded him in death in October of 1998. He was also preceded in death by his parents; step son, Michael Dhaese; and two brothers, Barry and Jerry Henderson.
He is survived by his sister, Peggy Louise (Donnie) McConnell; six children, Pamela (Dan) Henderson, Molly (Troy) Wilken, Tina (Andy) Siegrist, Dawn (Chris) Minch, Patricia (Rob) Faulkner, Corey Dhaese; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Caleb, Arabella, Drew, Heather, Joseph, Elizabeth and seven great-grandchildren.
Dwight graduated from Lincoln County High in Shelbyville, Tennessee in 1962 and entered the Army National Guard. He worked many professional jobs in the factory electrical and control systems area, some including AT&T, Caterpillar, Heister, and retired from Onan in Huntsville, Alabama.
Dwight was a tinkerer. He loved fixing things and building things. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing in his later years. He was also a faithful online participant at Northwoods Community Church and Calvary Community Church.
Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. Inurnment will be in Tennessee at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to OSF Hospice.
