Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 16, 2010.
Gloucester: Dwight Wayne Proctor, 61, was called home to our Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. Wayne retired from the US Army after 22 years of service as a First Sergeant. He was an avid fisherman and family man. His passions included fishing, expanding his John Wayne collection and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marie Proctor, children, Sonja Edgecomb-Prince and husband, Jeffrey, Cliff Leger and fiancée, Sasha Washington, Amanda Anderson, and Sketter Proctor-McLean and husband, Daniel; 13 grandchildren; and brothers, Rick Proctor, Buster Proctor and Michael Keefer. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, August 23, 2010 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Wayne is now casting his reel into Heavens' oceans and enjoying the company of his grandson, Bryce.
