MT. VERNON -- Dwight A. Ragor, 71, of Mount Vernon OH, passed away Thursday, January 12th, 2023, at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon.
Dwight was born May 28th, 1951, in Zanesville OH to Lyman Dean and Rose {Mikus} Ragor.
He graduated from Highland High School in Sparta OH in 1969.
He married Cheryl A (Moore) on May 27th, 1978.
Dwight drove trucks for 40 plus years, first for himself and then for several other companies. Dwight had faith and never met a stranger with all his travels. He got along with everyone, waving at everyone and calling them friend. He loved to play cards especially euchre. He loved, drag racing, cars and trucks, anything automotive. He loved action movies, Perry Mason, Andy Griffith and Westerns, especially John Wayne! He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and made sure they watched Andy Griffith wanting them to share a part of how he grew up and the moral influence on his life. He was an equal opportunity teaser but especially got a kick out of picking on Willow and Matty, playing wack-a-loon... Family was a priority for him always. He was right there when they needed him.
Dwight aka "Captain Howdy" will be deeply missed by his wife; children Daron (Jessica) Ragor, Dean Ragor, Desiree (Shawn) Ragor-Martin, Dillon (Katie) Ragor; grandchildren Angel, James Dwight "JD", Guage, Riley, Abbygail, Liam, Matty, and Willow; great-grandchildren Rosie, Dylan, and Juniper; brothers Mark A. (Juanita) Ragor, and Ronald E. (Amy) Ragor and his sister Pamela (Ralph) Passick.
