The family of Dwight Wayne Williams, 80, of Healdton will have their own Memorial Service 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Kingdom Hall with William Hunter officiating. Cremation services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home and Crematory in Healdton.
Dwight was born at home east of Irontop bridge on July 8th, 1945, to Flora and Henry Winefred "Winnie" Williams. He departed from this life on February 3, 2026 in Ardmore, OK.
After a discussion with his father about dropping out of school due to his skipping school already, he got a GED later and learned Diesel mechanics to go along with the many weekends of junk car overhauls for his next week car. He met his wife of 56 years, Catherine Joyce McKee, in Wilson Ok, drafted into the Vietnam War, he worked on helicopters, and waited for the day he could rush home to marry Catherine, the love of his life. His daughter, Tammy Towler with husband Ronnie, provided him with his first granddaughter, Sabra in 1985 and then in 1990 Logan was born. His son, Juan Williams with wife Brandi Williams, provided another grandson in 2006, John.
Dwight had an overabundance of love for the outpouring support of family and friends throughout his life but especially when he was accidentally shot during a camping trip in 1981. He continued his employment involving his knowledge of vehicles working for Carter County maintenance department, Voyles trucking, and Healdton Ambulance service as well as working for different oil field services. Outside of work, his six siblings who later gave him numerous nephews and nieces kept him busy as the "go to" man for their car needs.
He loved his family and in his later years, his main interest was learning what the Bible teaches. Dwight was baptized in 1993 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he could be found at the different One-Stop stores around Healdton drinking coffee and talking to people about the truths he had learned from the Bible. When Dwight needed 24-hour care, he chose to go to the VA. His main concern was for his loving wife, Catherine, that she has the resources she needed to take care of herself. Many Friends, surviving Sister Armentha, and homemade family will remember his willingness to help others. How we look forward to John 5:28 “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice”.
Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings, Hubert, Dirris, Curtis, Eunice, Doyal, Virginia, and Vernon; and by a son in law, Ron Towler.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Tammy Towler; son, Juan Williams and wife Brandi; sister, Armentha Martin; grandchildren, Sabra Dunaway, Logan Towler, and John Williams; great grandchildren, Dayvin, Nevaeh, and Lucien; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Honorary bearers will be Kenny Williams, Logan Towler, John Williams, Mark Gazaway, Jimmy Voyles, David Williams, Dayvin Crowder, and Calvin Martin.
