It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dylan Allen Kemp, who left this world unexpectedly on June 16, 2025, at the tender age of 27. Born on February 26, 1998, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dylan brought immense joy and love into the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His vibrant spirit and kind heart will be deeply missed by all.
Dylan was raised in a loving family, the son of Kirt and Chari Kemp. He grew up surrounded by the warmth of his family, which he cherished deeply. Dylan's commitment to his loved ones was unwavering, and he nurtured strong ties with everyone around him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alyssa Kemp (Pung), whom he married on April 26, 2024, in a beautiful intimate ceremony. They had planned to celebrate their love story with family and friends on July 12, 2025, a testament to the life they dreamed of building together.
Dylan was a proud father to his son, Braxton, and daughter, Lakeyn, who were truly his pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was teaching Braxton the art of hunting or simply reveling in their laughter. Dylan's family extended beyond his wife and children, as he was also a devoted son, brother, and uncle. He leaves behind his mother, Chari Kemp, and father, Kirt Kemp; his sister, Amanda Kemp (Eddie Salazar) and their children, Daniel, Veda, Cecelia, and Marnie; his brother, Hunter Kemp (Shelby Salamone) and their daughter, Malia; as well as his loving in-laws, including mother-in-law Cindy Pung (Rick Farkas), father-in-law Gary Pung, brother-in-law Bradley Pung (Jennifer) and their children Carson and Emma, sister-in-law Jade Lenneman (Brad) and their children Kinsley, Myla, and Gavin, sister-in-law Alexa Pung (Blake Thelen), and brother-in-law Devin Pung. His extended family, friends, and his softball family will also feel the profound loss of Dylan, whose heart embraced all he encountered.
Dylan was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School, class of 2016. Known for his dedication and hard work, he approached every task with a competitive spirit and a strong desire to excel. His work ethic was matched only by his passion for the great outdoors. An avid hunter, Dylan loved spending time in nature, particularly in the woods with his wife and children. Those memorable moments, such as taking Braxton on his first hunt, enriched their family's bonds and created cherished memories.
Dylan's love for softball was fierce, and he had a remarkable talent that shone brightly on the field. This sport was not just a game for Dylan; it was a way to connect with his community and share moments of camaraderie with friends. His competitive nature was matched only by his kind heart, always willing to lend a hand to others and uplift those around him. He formed deep connections with friends and family alike, and his legacy will live on in those relationships.
Family and friends are encouraged to come, share stories and visit on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 and 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Lehman Funeral Homes. A funeral service to honor Dylan's life will be held at Lehman Funeral Homes on June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to support the future of Dylan's beloved children, Braxton and Lakeyn. Accounts have been established in their names at the Portland Federal Credit Union, ensuring that Dylan's love continues to provide for them.
Though Dylan's time with us was far too brief, his impact will resonate in the hearts of many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and connection, and his spirit will forever remain in the memories of his family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Dylan. Your love will continue to shine through your children and all whose lives you've touched.
