Dylan Ray Sainz, a beacon of kindness and intelligence, passed away on February 21, 2026, in
Phoenix, AZ, at the age of 24. Born on September 7, 2001, in
Safford, AZ, Dylan's life was a testament to the beauty that a loving heart can bring to the world. From a young age, Dylan exhibited an extraordinary passion for the arts, which manifested in his incredible talent as an artist. His creative spirit was recognized and nurtured by his family and teachers at Mount Graham High School, from where he graduated in 2019. His artwork, a blend of nature's wonders and his own vivid imagination, brought joy and inspiration to all who had the pleasure of viewing it.
Dylan's love for the written word was equally profound. An avid reader, he could often be found lost in the pages of a book, absorbing knowledge and traveling to worlds beyond our own. His quest for learning never ceased, and he was always eager to share the insights he gained with those around him.
Nature was Dylan's sanctuary. From a young age, he cherished the time spent outdoors, whether playing for hours with his sister, Bethanie or later in life hiking along tranquil trails, fishing in serene lakes, or simply sitting in his garden, surrounded by the blooms and creatures he loved so dearly. His connection to the earth was a source of peace and happiness, not just for him but also for those who joined him on these adventures.
Dylan is survived by a loving family who will miss his gentle presence profoundly. He leaves behind: his loving mother, Shelly Crockett (Richie); his brother, Devin Sainz (Stephanie); and his sister, Bethanie Sainz. His memory will be cherished by his maternal grandparents, Bruce and Beth Weddle, and his paternal grandfather, Fred Sainz, alongside the memory of his late grandmother, Ida.
Dylan was preceded in death by: his father, Randy Sainz, whose love and guidance continue to resonate in Dylan's life and legacy.
Those who knew Dylan would describe him as a loving soul, whose kind demeanor and intelligence made him a joy to be around. His empathetic nature made him a confidant and friend to many, and his capacity for love and understanding was boundless. Dylan's life was a reminder of the beauty that exists within us and the importance of sharing that beauty with the world.
As we say farewell to Dylan, we celebrate a life cut way too short but lived with purpose and passion. He was a cherished son, a beloved brother, a treasured grandson, and a dear friend to many. Though he has left this earth, the light of his spirit continues to shine in the hearts of those who loved him. We find comfort in the knowledge that his legacy will live on through his art, the memories we hold dear, and the gentle imprint he left on the natural world he so adored. Rest in peace, dear Dylan. Your journey through this life was a gift to us all, and your memory will forever be woven into the tapestry of our lives.
