E. Bollman Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home - Middletown on Oct. 1, 2025.
E. Marie Bollman, 75, of Earleville, Maryland passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, while holding her husband, Herb's hand.
Marie was born on November 5, 1949, to the late Bernard A. and Lucille Lynam. She grew up surrounded by family in Ogletown, Delaware and graduated from Christiana High School in 1967. She then worked many jobs to pay her own way through a degree in nursing from the University of Delaware, which showed her determination to succeed even at an early age. She graduated in 1971 and was employed by the Veterans Hospital in Elsmere, Delaware as a floor nurse and later an instructor before joining Herb in their trucking business. Over the next 40 years, Marie and Herb grew the business into a truck stop and real estate company with Marie handling the finances until nearly the end.
Marie was everyone's biggest fan, attending as many drag races, games, meets, concerts, and award ceremonies as she could for both her children and grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to volunteer or help out when she saw the need. She was inspirational and supportive in her children's and grandchildren's educations at all their schools including the Sanford School, the Pilot School, the Tome School, Newark Charter School, and Archmere Academy. A member of the blood bank, she donated blood regularly for decades. Her favorite pastimes included spending time at her home on Veazey's Cove, reading, taking the boat out for a ride, kayaking, or playing card games with her grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years Herb, their son, Erich and wife Melissa; their daughter Kristen and husband Mitch; their very loved grandchildren Brady, Lazo, Avery, and Lela; her siblings and lifelong friends Judi Nulton and husband Bob; her brother Alvin Lynam and wife Barbara; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marie was preceded in death by her older brother, Ron Lynam and his wife Peggy.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for their care of Marie over the past year and a half during her battle with brain cancer, especially Drs. Desai, Kurtz, and O'Rourke, and everyone on their teams.
The family has chosen not to do viewing or a receiving line at the church. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 11 am at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church located at 10 Glebe Rd in Earleville, MD 21919. A private burial will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 10 Glebe Rd., Earleville, MD 21919 or www.ststephensearleville.org
