E. Byron Brooks, 97, of Jersey Shore, PA, saw his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face Monday, December 8, 2025. He realized that he was a sinner and in need of salvation as a boy and trusted in Jesus Christ as his Savior knowing that Jesus is the only way to heaven.

Byron was born February 16, 1928, to Ernest and Margaret "Peggy" Brooks in Jersey Shore, PA. He is survived by his wife of 78 years, Martha Brooks; his daughter-in-law, Regina Brooks of Ulysses, PA; his grandchildren, Gretchen Brooks of Ulysses, PA, Erich (Shawna) Brooks of Ulysses, PA, Heidi (Joshua) O'Neil of Lawrenceville, PA and Alyson Brooks of Ulysses, PA; nine great-grandchildren: Breanna, Blake, Beth, Brielle, and Braelyn Brooks, Reilly, Payton, Ethan, and Kelton O'Neil; his brother Gale Brooks of Avis, PA; and nieces and nephews. Byron was preceded in death by his son, Byron E. "By" Brooks and brother Charlie Brooks.

Byron was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elimsport where he faithfully served as a Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and youth leader through the years. He worked as a produce manager at A&P in Jersey Shore and a car salesman at the former Chevrolet garage in Jersey Shore.

Friends may call at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, PA on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 10:00-11:30AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:30AM. His grandson, Rev. Erich Brooks will officiate along with Rev. Todd Baker. Burial will be at Jersey Shore Cemetery.
