E.V. Lowery, Jr., age 82, passed away on January 14, 2026. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a pipefitter at Ingalls Shipbuilding. An avid fisherman, E.V. loved to catch fish and enjoy eating them, and he also loved camping and being outdoors. He deeply loved his church and had a special love for his pastor. Above all, E.V. fiercely loved his family and took great care of them. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, EV and Doris Taylor Lowery; brother, Glenn Edward Lowery; granddaughter, Avani Archangel.

Those left to cherish his memory include special nieces whom he loved as his own, Rachel Reeves and Sherry (Josh) Archangel; siblings, Carolyn (George) King, Larry (Jean) Lowery, Don (Penny) Lowery, LaDonnis Kimble, Karl (Diane) Lowery, and Susan Lowery; sister-in-law, Jan Lowery; nieces and nephews, Ricky (Jennifer) King, Jennifer (James) Walker, Greg (Stacey) King, Clint Lowery, Doris Hibbs, Mary Flick, Erica Lowery, Lisa Keene, Grandon (Kayla) Lowery, Hannah Lowery, Adam Parker, Jackie Blackston, Holly (Les) Pitts; numerous great nieces, and nephews; grandchildren, Caleb Reeves, Trinity Reeves, and Taylor-Grace Reeves; other relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at New Antioch Full Gospel. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 beginning at 10:00 AM in the church sanctuary with Bro. Heath Havard and Bro. Tony Williams officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Grandon Lowery, G. R. Lowery, Les Pitts, Zaiden Pitts, Karsyn Lowery and Caleb Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Archangel, Greg Barnett and Kaesyn Blackston.

The family would like to extend a sincere than you to Deaconess Hospice and nurse Tyler for the great care.
