Edwin Bruce Moore, 87, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2025 at Lincolnshire Place in Muncie.
Bruce was born May 25, 1938, in Muncie, the son of Clinton B. and Mary R. (Beeler) Moore. Bruce graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1956, from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Economics in 1960 and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ball State University in 1968.
Mr. Moore was employed at Delco Remy Division, GMC at the Battery Plant in Muncie and at the headquarters in Anderson for 32 years, retiring in 1992 as Staff Assistant in Personnel (now Human Resources).
He then was employed as the first Executive Director of Cardinal Greenway, Inc. for 8 years, retiring in 2002. During his tenure, the purchase of the corridor was completed and 20 miles in Delaware County, 7 and ½ miles in Grant County and 2 and ½ miles in Richmond were designed and built. Mr. Moore was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash for his involvement with Cardinal Greenway by Governor Frank O'Bannon in 2001.
Bruce was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church in Muncie and the President of the Catalina Swim Club, Purdue Club of Muncie, and Delaware County Friends of Purdue. Bruce and his first wife, Pat, were very involved in the Muncie Children's Museum, where she was a founder and he served on the board. He was also on the board of Cardinal Greenway, Inc. and a Trustee of the Muncie YWCA. He was a member of Delaware Lodge #46, F. & A.M., and a member serving on various committees of Muncie Sunrise Rotary and the Kiwanis Club of Muncie. Mr. Moore was a member of the Indiana National Guard, 38th Division from 1960 until 1966.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Sandra Moore; daughter, Nancy Tierney, son, Steve (Shawn) Moore, daughter, Cindy (Andy) Mappes; grandchildren, Adam Tierney, Samantha (Mario) May, Carson (Kierston) Moore, Walker Moore, Gretchen Moore, Colin (Kierstin) McManama, Patrick McManama, and Murphy McManama, great grandchildren, Wyatt Bruce May, Callahan Brooks Moore; Sandra's children, Craig (Linda) Ellis, Jeff (Terry) Ellis, Von (Barbara) Ellis, Angie (Rick) Wills, and Paula Ellis; Sandra's grandchildren, Scott (Jamie) Ellis, Austin Mullikin, Nathan (Kylee) Mullikin, Evan (Sarahjane) Ellis, Sarah (Stephen) Bushway, Daniel, Ryan, and Kyle Wills, Blake Ellis, and Brandon Ellis; Sandra's great grandchildren, Deacon Ellis, and Theo Mullikin; sister-in-law, Janice Prosser; two nephews, Jeff Moore and Tom Moore; and a niece, Terra (Jason) Hendrickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia Moore in 2006 and brother, Roger D. Moore.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 W. Riverside Ave., Muncie, with Rev. Dr. Daren Hofmann and Rev. Dr. Ronald Naylor officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 W. Riverside Ave., Muncie, from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025.
