On Valentine´s Day 2026, four high school friends, who had celebrated together for Sheila´s and my joint Sweet 16 party in 1962, were to meet for lunch at a café/bakery called Sweet Memories. Sheila prepared valentines of fresh blueberries for each of us, including photos of our teenage selves at the Sweet 16. We spoke with wonder of celebrating our 80th birthdays this year. It was a beautiful, grace-filled afternoon with this awesome treasure of a woman who, by her example, gave us lessons on true friendship.
