Earl Rivera Aceves, a.k.a Grumpy was born April 11th, 1958 in San Bernardino California to Jesus & Natalia Aceves. In 1971 at 13 years old, he took over Santa Claus duties from his Tia Maria and the rest is history. Earl began working his first job in 1975 at Parks & Recreation Center in San Bernardino doing odd jobs and played Santa Claus for the Rec Center during the Holiday season. Earl began working in the Steel Mill Industry at Kaiser Steel until it's closing in 1981 and began working soon after at Schlosser Forge Company as a Forklift Operator and Production Scheduler for approximately 22 years. Earl married Nancy in 1977 and has 4 sons together, Earl Jr., Eric, Errin & Evan and was very involved in their schooling, music and baseball journey's with Back to Back City Championships with the Southwest Little League Blue Jays. He too was an exceptional Softball player as he was a "Wall" behind the plate with his team "BMF". The boys pretty much lived at the ballpark growing up. His love and passion for the game of baseball, whether he was coaching in the dugout or from the outfield stands, He was one to be heard and listened to. Even days before his passing, you could find him watching his grandchildren's baseball or softball games from his motorized scooter. Earl is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy. Sons and family, Earl, Emery, Earl Jr. & Elijah. Eric, Eric N., Elyssa, Elexis, Eliana, Ethan, Emeri & Great Granddaughter Kaia. Errin, Monica, Lailah & Hailey. Evan, Rosey & Evannie. He is also survived by his sisters Emily & Erma, last surviving Uncle, Rick Rivera and many other aunts, cousins, nieces & nephews to list.
