Earl William Riegler

Earl Riegler, 90, of Sherrill, IA passed away June 8, 2025.
Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00p.m., Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque. Funeral Services will be at 10:30a.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Sherrill. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery, Sherrill. Earl was born on October 21, 1934, to Harlan and Alma (Theviot) Riegler in Specht's Ferry, Iowa.
He graduated from Dubuque Senior Highschool in 1952.
Earl was united in marriage to Margaret (Beebe) Riegler on June 16, 1956 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Sherrill.
He was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer.
In his earlier years, Earl was employed with Northome Furniture. He then pursued a career with John Deere Dubuque Works for 30+ years where he was a UAW member.
He was also a past member of the Izaak Walton league and a member of the NRA.
Earl enjoyed trapshooting and hunting. He also cherished fishing with the grandkids. And hosting many fish frys at their family home. His greatest joy was spending time with family, and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their bowling leagues and baseball games.
Earl is survived by his children, Craig (Lori) Riegler, and Jeff (Heather) Riegler; grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Riegler, Alissa (Tyler) Watkins, Adam (Lindsey) Riegler, Tucker Riegler, Alex Riegler, Corinne (Gary) Baltazar, and Chance Lundin; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Janet (Neil) Loney, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Beebe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Alma, and wife, Margaret.
A Earl Riegler Memorial Fund has been established.
