Dover, Florida – Earl Taylor, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, Florida, following several months of failing health.
Earl was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Elmer Taylor and Wilhelmina (Minnie) F. Taylor (née Schiile). He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Patsy Taylor of Dover; his twin brother, Edwin Taylor and wife, Mary, of Santa Barbara, California; his son, Douglas Taylor of Orlando; and two grandchildren, Ashley Taylor and Zachary Taylor. Earl was predeceased by his 10 older siblings and his son, Stuart Taylor in 2023.

If you knew Earl, you know he was an avid Jeopardy fan and watched it nightly. Earl was also known for his quick wit, political discussions, analyzing current events, cracking jokes, and reading. Earl had a keen technical mind and used those skills to own and operate a cash register sales and service business for decades serving the Tampa Bay area. Earl also spent time completing home improvement and renovation projects. He prided himself on his former career at the Kennedy Space Center at Merritt Island, Florida, where he worked for Xerox as a technician. Earl was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps during the mid-1950s.

The family extends their immense gratitude to the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital staff for their compassionate care of Earl over the recent months.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at the convenience of the family.
