86 year old, Earl D. Walton, of DeMotte, passed away March 7, 2025, at George Ade Memorial Healthcare Center, Brook, Indiana.
On November 26, 1938, Earl was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to Edward and Grace (Lemley) Walton. Earl graduated from Purdue and Valparaiso University Law School. He practiced law in Northwest Indiana since 1985 retiring in 2009. He worked as civil, criminal, appellate practice and practice before the U.S. Tax Court. He has also been recognized for his extensive Pro Bono Legal services for the needy. Earl was an active member of the Rensselaer United Methodist Church as a Lay Preacher, DeMotte Rotary Club as Past President, DeMotte Chamber of Commerce as Past President (4 years), DeMotte Junior Achievement as founder and Past President (4 years), Masonic Lodge #125 as Past Master, and Grand Prairie Shrine Club as Past President. He was also proud to be a Purdue Alumnus where he was active in the President Council. He also served as member in the Fairchild House Committee, Indiana Society of Chicago, National Rife Association, Expert Alfa Romeo Club of America. He retired from the IRS in 1979 as District Director, Northern District.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and brother: William Walton.
Earl leaves behind many special friends with fond memories.
Friends are invited to visit from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Boersma Funeral Home, Wheatfield, Indiana. Services for Earl will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025, with Reverend Sean Johnson officiating. Masonic Services will follow.
Per Earl’s wishes cremation will follow.
Interment will take place at a later date at the Cemetery of the Resurrection, DeMotte, Indiana.
