I will always remember the way he managed the Orioles, the plays by the percentages, the dirt flying, his love for the Orioles and the fans. Thank you Earl, for all you did for the Orioles and making the fans proud to be an Orioles fan. Rest in peace with the Lord, play some baseball with all in heaven.

As a young boy growing up in Baltimore I loved baseball. Always wanted to play 3rd and wear number 5. Respected number 4 just as much. He was the brains and fire of those great teams. The passion he showed for the game, for what he loved, has stuck with me to this day. God Bless and keep you Mr. Weaver. There will never be another.

As a young 11 year old in ruaol NC in 1950, we followed the Winston Sales Cardinals in their pennant winning year. While listening on the radio,the anouncer would often remind us the whistleing we heard was coming fron 2B - Earl Weaver. Years later I took the championship team picture I had saved from the Winston Salem paper & John Lowenstein assisted in getting Earl to sign it. I traasure it today - he was one of my alltime favorites, I also love tomatoes. My heart goes out to the family.

I grew up in Rochester as a Red Wings fan and lifelong O's fan. Earl was the epitome of baseball...heart, unbelievable passion and work ethic. The world of baseball is better because of him. Thirteen years ago I met Mr. Weaver at a baseball camp in Fort Myers. We spent probably an hour together, talking about baseball and some of the people who've played, managed and umpired. It was a fascinating conversation. I didn't know what to expect from this "hothead" manager from a long-time rival (Red Sox fan here). What I got was a memory that will last a lifetime from a gracious and interesting person who I'll never forget--not as some detached image and public figure but rather as a human being with a rich experience that he was more than willing to share with another human who loves baseball. Thank you Earl Weaver. Rest now. To his family, sorry for your loss.

I think of all the big leaguers who may never have been big leaguers without you, all the winners who would never have known they were winners without you, the coaches who would never have been coaches, the fans who may never have been fans, even the umpires that may never have been umps and the hall of famers who may never have even been famous without the Earl of Baltimore. you helped carry a 7 year old boy who just lost his mother in 1971 thru some of the toughest years of his life and i am forever grateful. i think of your family and the people closest to you and wish you all gods peace.

May God Bless you in your time of sorrow. You have many fond memories to honor him long after his passing. Please know this fine gentleman brought much joy to sports fans all across America.

Earl Weaver was what was good in baseball. He was the best manager all-time. I loved his will and his grittyness. He didn't take any crap from anyone. I loved his continuing fued with pitcher Jim Palmer, but at the end Palmer like and respected his baseball manager. We lost a great man today, he made baseball fun and exciting. Thanks for all the wonderful memories of Orioles baseball. RIP Earl of Baltimore.

A great manager who left the game with a host of classic stories and comments. Not well liked by umpires, but loved and adored by the fans. Vividly remember when he would come out on the field and you were entertained. A great baseball man many years ahead of the time. May he rest in peace.

I got to watch the duke of earl and little billy martin mix it up in a double header one time.they really put on a show with the umpires.both got ejected. the pitchers were my heroes catfish hunter for new york and jim palmer for baltimore.i sure got my money's worth that day. i have missed you earl.it will never be the same.

Nobody...AND I MEAN NOBODY...could argue the way Earl Weaver could. I loved watching him because there was no mistaking this man's passion for the game.

It was sad to hear of the passing of Earl Weaver. On the same day that Stan the Man has passed, some do not know that Mr. Weaver was from St. Louis and was a member of the Cardinals for 13 yrs. He left and went onto be one of the best managers in baseball. He brought excitement to the game and wasn't afraid to give his opinion. There is statement about Earl that his bark was worse than his bite well he sat behind my Mother in high school in St Louis' Beumont high and she said "he was one of the nicest boys in the class"!! So Earl, go see my Mother she will be happy to sit next to you once again!!!

Spent the day at the Orioles FAN FEST. Everyone's smart phones all got the news at the same time while we were waiting in line to get inside. Tears were flowing and great stories told. The O's did a nice tribute video and hung his jersey on the stage. Buck passed on to us that if he was ablle to talk to Earl he would have said don't let this ruin FAN FEST. The people of Baltimore will never forget him and all of us were glad to see him six times last year at the "YARD " when they got their statues. GOD SPEED and take care of the boys upstairs from your old teams.

Mr.Weaver,it was an honor to watch you manage.you played my beloved pirates twice in the world series (and you lost both times) but the orioles were still a great team.we will miss you sir.our prayers are with your family and with oriole nation.

He worked winters as an auto salesman for us the last two seasons he managed the Pioneers. He never sold much, but, the stories he told on those long winter Elmira nights in the showroom kept us laughing.

Whenever we wanted to see a game, Earl would provide us with front row box seats directly behind home plate and ushers would wait on us with refreshments.

He was always a real classy many to us. He will be missed.

It was a pleasure to know Earl Weaver. I had fun watching him throw his rants with the umpires as I grew up. In fantasy camp he had a great time with campers and the fans. In fact he was so nice, my wife asked him to take a picture of her with Jim Palmer. She has that picture on the wall in her office. Baseball fans will miss this great manager and friend.

Mr Weaver was my next door neighbor as a child, in Richmond Heights. He and his family shaped my live my life in so many ways. One memory has stuck with me for years, and provided many a laugh at my expense when I recount. I was a shy child and hardly spoke. One Christmas season, his daughter and I were curled up at his feet coloring pictures. He shocked me when he growled out to his wife; "for years we have been trying to get her to talk, and now we can't get her to shut up!". Well earl you helped my career in a way I shall always remember when I played for the Baltimore orioles I remember one thing your face from your seat never left my sight almost like you envisioned already the direction of my hits flight also you where the one whom kept smiling more when you where watching me hit just like one of your old coaches and now you'made it to where he is say hello to the man whom kept me at plate.

As a Red Sox fan, I fondly remember Earl Weaver and respected him 100% as the Baltimore Orioles manager. You will be missed mostly by family and close friends, but certainly by the baseball world.
