Earla Sogan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coast to Coast Cremations on Jan. 23, 2026.
Earla V. Sogan, 93, peacefully entered the arms of her Heavenly Father on January 6, 2026, surrounded by 17 adoring members of her loving family.
She was born February 9, 1932, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Mary Frances (Clifton) and John Kurtz Schott, and grew up alongside her siblings Evelyn, Verna, John, Dale, and Shirley.
At just 15 years old, Earla met the love of her life, Charles Edward "Eddie" Sogan. They married five years later in 1952, beginning a beautiful life together built on faith, family, and hard work. In 1957, they moved to Pompano Beach, Florida, where they raised their four children before settling in Ft. McCoy in 1979. That same year, Earla and Eddie opened Circle S Manufacturing. Earla faithfully managed the administrative side of the business for the next 47 years, continuing her work until the very end of her life.
A woman of deep faith, Earla found great joy in her church family at Anthony United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and handled bookkeeping for many years. Her life was a reflection of her steadfast faith, kindness, compassion, strength, and unconditional love. She made it her priority to instill these qualities in her family, which was evident in the devoted care she was given in her final years.
Family was always at the heart of everything she did. She cherished gatherings and devoted herself to caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her simply as "Gram." She was also a treasured aunt and mentor to her nieces and nephews, treating each one as her own and filling their lives with warmth and encouragement.
Earla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Edward Sogan (April 6, 2000), as well as her parents and siblings.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her children: Michael (Becky), Bruce (Nenita), Gail (Jose), and Maria (Todd); her grandchildren: Eileen (Cody), Sarah (Jose), Joshua, Autumn, Adrian (Hunter), Eddie, April (Vas), and Brandon (Marcella); her great-grandchildren: Abbi, Christian (Meadow), Paityn, Lydia, Barrett, Ruby, Harper, Victoria, Karson, and Maya; and one great-great-grandchild on the way, Baby Thursby.
A celebration of Earla's life will be held Saturday, February 7, at 11am, at Anthony
United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anthony United Methodist Church in her memory.

Our deepest sympathy to all who loved Earla. I know my mother Anna Sogan Bates did. Earla also kept in touch with her even after my mom was unable to reply back. Earla always sent notes and cards keeping my mom updated on the Sogan´s.
I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you mourn the loss of such a kind, generous, and beautiful lady.
Sincerely,
Karyn Zappala (Anna´s daughter)
And the rest of the Anna Sogan Bates family

Hello, I'm sure none of you know me but I wanted to say I am sorry for your loss. Earla matched with me on Ancestry DNA. I tried unsuccessfully to reach out to her a few years ago. My Grandmother was Margaret Schott (Thompson) and we spent some vacation time with my grandma's brother John in Florida when i was child. I am 74 now and trying to preserve any history i can. My Family visited my Dad's (Elmer} cousin Evelyn many times after we moved to Florida. I live in Clearwater, Fl. now. On FB as Marcy Thompson Cagwin.
I would be honored to connect with anyone in the family. I offer my deepest condolences and pray for the Peace of Jesus for all of you.
Praise Jesus for His everlasting Love and Peace.
