Earldine Dinkins Jackson, fondly known as EJ, passed away on January 14, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 75. Born on August 18, 1950, in Queens, New York, she brought joy and to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
EJ dedicated more than 30 years of her life to the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to serving her community. Her straightforward and no-nonsense approach endeared her to colleagues and friends alike, while her caring and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Beyond her professional life, EJ had a vibrant personality that made every gathering lively and memorable. She had a fondness for travel, which often led her on adventures with friends and family. She was a passionate collector of bears. In the heart of New York City, she delighted in attending talk shows with friends, creating joyous memories that will be cherished forever.
EJ is survived by her beloved sons, Marcus Jackson and Terrence Jackson. She shared close bonds with her sister, Tara Evans, and her nephews, Malachi and Micah Evans. She is also survived by her uncle, Greg Hatcher; her aunt, Trudie Hatcher; her cousin, Delecia Hatcher; and her best friend, Deb Williams, along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.
EJ was preceded in death by her father, David Dinkins, and her mother, Jessie Carter Dinkins. Their love and values shaped her life and continue to resonate through her family.
