DR. EARLE WILSON "CHIP" ANGELL
Dr. Earle Wilson "Chip" Angell, faithful preacher of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus; loving
husband to Sheri for 52 years, father and grandfather to 21; retired attorney, part time judge and master gardener entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2025.
Chip Angell was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Richardson, his father, Earle
Blankenship and his son, Cary. He is survived by his wife, Sheri Holden, two daughters Olivia
Angell and Antoinette Angell and his four sons and their wives, Bryce and Abbie, Aaron and
Olivia, Eli and Shawna, Asher and Katie; along with 21 grandchildren (Madison, Cooper,
Holland, Molly, Jack, Noah, Millie, Eliza Ruth, Anna Beth, Caroline, Rhett, Shep, Charlotte, James, Benjamin, Holden, Bella Kate, Selah, Ava, Parker, Thomas and two expectants' granddaughters Lucy and Elise). Chip is survived by his sister Olivia Devin, husband John, and their two daughters, Shelby and Bailey. He is survived by his sister-in-law Debbie Payne and her husband, Jeff Payne and their two sons, Cougar and Cody.
Chip, Daddy, Grandaddy, however you knew him, he was one of a kind. A smile to light up a room, the conviction of a lion, the education of a scholar and a man who gave his life in
service to the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ. His great life's honor and call was in
proclaiming and preaching the good news of forgiveness of sins through Faith in Christ
alone.
Among other pursuits, Chips particular love for Jeffersonian farming and excelling in the
most delicious crop of open-pollinated heirloom tomatoes ever produced was a thing of
legends. His insistence that the soil "having to be just right" (ph level, nitrates, all the
things) to produce a good crop was unyielding. Anyone who ever tasted a tomato from his
garden (or pepper, squash, cucumber, watermelon, cantaloupe, corn, okra) immediately
recognized what a gift Chip had for growing real from seed organic produce. Most
summers, Chip would have over 30 different varieties of tomatoes and the grin on his face
when he saw you biting into one of his ripe "real food" homegrown beefsteak or Cherokee
purple tomatoes were priceless. He took such pride in his produce and he treasured
farming and gardening.
He carried the steadfast spirit of a Citadel Bulldog-disciplined, resilient, and never willing
to give up. His pursuits in farming, fishing, and law brought him joy, but none compared to
his lifelong passion for spreading the light of Christ. Chip's greatest legacy is the countless
lives touched by his preaching, his counseling, his friendship and his steadfast faith.
A Faithful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Priest, Bishop, Friend and above all The Lord's Servant-Chip Angell has departed this life for Eternal Glory. "Precious in the Sight of the Lord is the Death of His Saints."
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at St. John's Anglican Church, 330 River Road, Westminster, SC 29693, with a private burial to take place at First Baptist Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5:00pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
