Earle E. Horne

1931 - 2025

Earle E. Horne, 94 of Naples, Florida and Pittsfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully November 15, 2025 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on April 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Blanchard and Eileen LaFleur Horne.

He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War.

He was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He married the former Marilyn LaPointe in June of 1952. She predeceased him in 2003.

Mr. Horne was the owner and operator of Crawford Garage Door Outfit. He also had worked at General Electric as a toolmaker for many years.

A member of the Dalton American Legion, he was a handyman and loved to build things. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and most recently of St. Charles Church. His family meant the world to him and he loved spending time with them, watching his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events - he never missed any games.

Mr. Horne is survived by his son, Robert E. Horne and wife Kathleen of Pittsfield. Grandchildren, Robert E. Horne, Jr., and wife Erin of Pittsfield, Jeremy Fields of Pittsfield, Jason Fields and Alicia Cook of Pittsfield, Mark Horne and wife Betsy of New Hampshire and Tyler Lott and wife Aubrie of Arizona. His beloved great-grandchildren, Jason Jr., Kaelyn, Eli, Peyton and Vivian.

Besides his wife Marilyn Horne, he was predeceased by his son John Horne in 2011 and his grandson, Ryan Fields in 2020.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral home services will be held, Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. Michael the Arch Angel Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery. An hour of visitation will precede the funeral service from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Boy's and Girls Club and mailed to the funeral home.
