Earlene McGehee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Willis on Dec. 15, 2025.
Earlene Ann Bennett McGehee passed away at home at the age of 83 on December 9, 2025. Earlene was born to Natalie and Earl Bennett on September 4, 1942. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, to whom she was married for 59 wonderful years, her parents Natalie and Earl, and son-in-law David Sallee. Family was always important to Earlene and she enjoyed hosting family events and get togethers. Throughout her life she loved supporting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending as many of their activities as possible. Earlene loved to travel and she and Jerry enjoyed many adventures together all over the world. She also loved having girls trips with her daughters and granddaughter and her extended family and girl friends. She had many health issues throughout her life but always faced them with strength and bravery and never complained and never let it stop her from doing anything she wanted. Earlene was loved by everyone and was always there for anyone who needed her. Those left to cherish memories of Earlene are her daughters, Stacey Sallee and Stephanie Johnson (Matt Johnson); grandchildren: Julie Lee, David Sallee, Jr. (Alex Sallee), Kyle Johnson (Rachel Johnson) and Garner Johnson; and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: Loretta McLaughlin, Tom Bennett (Barbara Bennett) and Mickey Bennett (Rebecca Bennett); along with numerous others as well as a large extended family. Earlene will be dearly missed by family and friends. She was a person you could count on and didn't hesitate to help anyone in need.
