Eber "Bub" S. Harper, 94, of Pleasant City, passed on to his Heavenly home on Monday (February 2, 2026) surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 26, 1931 in Guernsey County, son of the late Jesse Harper and Etta Mae (Moorehead) Harper.

Eber retired from RCA/NCR. He also did electrical work and remodeling jobs whenever he could. He loved carpentry work.

He was a member of the Zanesville Bible Methodist Church.

Eber enjoyed camping and vacationing all across the country with family. He also loved gardening and going fishing. He cherished spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of seventy-five years, Edith Evelyn (Weaver) Harper, who passed away February 19, 2024. They were married on November 26, 1948. Also deceased is a daughter, Bonnie Jean Combs; two grandsons, James Dodd and Jason Dudley; a great-grandson, Kegon Seymour; and his siblings, Oran Ray Harper, Donald Harper, Kathren Tillett, Irene Wisenbarger, Annabell Smith, and Wanda June Callihan.

Eber is survived by three sons, Garland (Kathy) Harper of Pleasant City, Jeff (Leah) Harper of Lancaster, and Brian Harper of Cumberland; two daughters, Trenda (Larry) Bethel of Old Washington and Becky Dudley of Pleasant City; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren plus one more on the way; a son-in-law, Tom Combs of Pleasant City; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday (February 9, 2026) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Titus Byer and Pastor Bill Blair officiating.

Burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery.
