Eddie Lathan Gosa Jr. was born to Anna Gosa (nee) Davis and Eddie Gosa Sr. on December 24, 1934, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Eddie was the second of four children. He was preceded in death by three siblings: Franklin D. Roosevelt (Roe), Lewis Gosa (Ronnie), and Alice Jean Fistzgiles (nee) Gosa, and one grandson, Dione L. Scarborough.
Affectionately known as "Ed," Eddie was educated in the
Wilmington, Delaware school system until he entered the work force employed by General Motors, where he worked for 30 years and 10 months until retirement on January 1, 1994.
Eddie was a very private man. He loved to get dressed and was very meticulous about what he put on. He was a tailor-made type of man when it came to his clothing, and you would never see him in a pair of sneakers. Eddie also loved cooking and baking. He would cook any time of the day. If he had a taste for something, he would not go to a restaurant or fast-food place to get it, he would cook it himself. Eddie had an extensive cologne collection. Not only did he love to look good, but he also loved to smell good. Lastly, let us not forget, Eddie loved to drive in style, nice vehicles.
Eddie had a love for jazz music, billiards, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He would have music playing on the radio all day long. He also loved to read the newspaper.
Eddie is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Maggie L. Gosa; seven children: Gail D. Benson (Scarborough), Vanessa N. Gosa, Kevin Wray, Tamara M. Gosa-Wilson, Stacey L. Gosa-Craig, Edward L. Gosa, and Michael E. Gosa (Monica); 13 grandchildren,; 25 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews; cousins; and friends.
